Kashan Khan

Mr. Kashan Khan is a full-time Ph.D. student at Tianjin University, the first contemporary science and technology university in China. He is supervised by Professor Zhihua Chen (Vice President) and Professor Tsavdaridis (External supervisor). In addition, he is a member of the research teams of Professor Chen's Tianjin Steel Structure Association and Professor KDT's 3DMBC (3D Modular Building Connections). Before this, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (Pakistan) and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Tianjin University (China).

In 2015, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (Pakistan). He was awarded a silver medal for obtaining the second-best place out of over 400 students in his batch. A full-funded University Scholarship entirely supported his Bachelor of Science.

After graduating from the BS program, he joined NESPAK PVT Ltd (Pakistan) and AREAA Construction (Turkey) as a Designer and Site Engineer, working on the seismic-resistant design for Government funded projects, where he developed professional knowledge in the design and construction of the building.

An MS followed this in Structural Engineering at Tianjin University (China) in 2018, supported by a distinguished fully-funded fellowship from the China Scholarship Council. He was awarded a fully-funded Ph.D. fellowship for obtaining his cohort's most fantastic overall grade and research accomplishments.

During his doctoral study, he has already published more than ten academic papers and a book Chapter as the first author, with a cumulative impact factor of more than 50. He is currently a reviewer for SCI journals Journal of Construction Steel Research, Mathematical Problems in Engineering, and Journal of the institution of Engineers (India): Series A.
