Ahmed Alali is a PhD candidate in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds (UK) under the supervision of Professor Tsavdaridis. He is also part of the KDT research group. His research project focuses on studying the flexural behaviour and sustainability of the recently developed Prefabricated Ultra-Shallow Steel-Concrete Composite Slabs (PUSS). PUSS is aimed for use in steel frames with large spans as well as for modular building systems.
Prior to this, he worked for 3 years as a research and teaching assistant at the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Bahrain.
He holds a BSc in Civil engineering and a MSc in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering) from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) - Saudi Arabia.
